Thanksgiving Greetings
When I woke up this morning, I realized how much for which there is to be thankful. I am thankful for the values my parents and grandmothers instilled in me and my brother. I am Thankful that my wife Tiffany and I can now pass on these time-honored lessons to our daughter Canon. I am thankful for family, friends and supporters who encourage me to be my very best that I can be in service to others. I am also thankful for the citizens of this great city who have entrusted me to work to make Atlanta one of the best places in the world to live, work, play and learn.
As we pause for Thanksgiving, let us reflect and give thanks for all that we have, regardless of how bountiful or modest it may be. As we gather with family and friends, take time to express our gratitude for their friendship and love. Such words from the heart will fuel their spirit and feed their soul. When we sit down for Thanksgiving dinner, let us give thanks for the blessing of another year with those who are physically present, and remember those who are with us in spirit.
Finally, as a family, consider how to be of service to someone else. Say a prayer for those who will eat alone or not at all on this Thanksgiving day. There but for God's grace go we. Take note of the sense of security and peace that encompasses our homes, remembering the sacrifice of the selfless men and women who serve in our U.S. military and as first responders in our communities.
In closing, as we begin our holiday season, I encourage you to support the many businesses, both large and small, in our city. The vitality of our city depends greatly upon neighborhood grocers, restaurants and small retail shops alike. They too need and deserve our support.
Again, thank you for your continued support and allowing me to serve you.
From my family to yours, have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
